Darégal, A Partner of the « Froid » Exhibition at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie

  • March 2018

Darégal is a proud frosty partner of the new « Froid » exhibition at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie, which will amaze the whole family from 9 to 99 years old! An experience which promises to be full of goosebumps for little ones and big kids as it reveals all the secrets of the cold…

What is the cold? How is it made? Why is the cold necessary in our daily lives? Does the cold have a limit in temperature? How will we use the cold in the future?

Find out everything you need to know about the cold and its effects, the essential role it holds in nature and within the human body as well as in our food and in technology.

Take part in the numerous animations available throughout the exhibition where you will learn how to properly stock your fridge in order to preserve your food in the healthiest way possible and even try out different materials (down, fleece, cotton, …) in order to discover which material best protects you from the wind!

In the dedicated food area of the exhibition, amongst the wide variety of animations, you’ll even learn how frozen Basil is produced! Culinary herbs are extremely fragile and the process of freezing them allows us to retain the full flavours and nutritional values of each variety all whilst limiting any waste!

Take a look at this sneak preview of the process which shows the production of one of our “little boxes” of frozen Basil by clicking on the video below:
